Publication of Statement of Common Ground relating to Housing Distribution following NPPF and new Standard Method published December 2024 (December 2025)
A Statement of Common Ground (SoCG) relating to housing distribution following the NPPF and new Standard Method published in December 2024, has been prepared jointly by the nine local authorities in Leicester and Leicestershire.
The SoCG will be considered through all partners’ respective governance processes in the coming months and is informed by an Updated Housing Distribution Paper, a piece of evidence commissioned by all nine authorities.

Posted July 2026 – Publication of Updated Housing Mix Evidence
This housing mix evidence report selectively updates the 2022 Housing & Economic Needs Assessment to reflect changes to national policy, most notably the revised Standard Method introduced in December 2024, and aligns with the Updated Housing Distribution Paper (November 2025).
The report provides updated evidence on housing mix and the housing needs of older people and those with disabilities across the Leicester & Leicestershire Housing Market Area.
